What Makes These Deviled Eggs Paleo-Friendly?

Traditional deviled eggs are usually made with mayonnaise, sugar, and processed ingredients that don’t fit a paleo lifestyle. To make deviled eggs paleo-friendly, the key is swapping those ingredients for whole, real foods. Instead of conventional mayo, in this recipe you will use a paleo-approved mayonnaise made with avocado oil or olive oil.

The flavors used (mustard and dill relish) are naturally paleo. By sticking to simple, unprocessed ingredients, you can enjoy rich, satisfying deviled eggs that stay fully paleo while tasting just as indulgent as the classic version.

Paleo Deviled Eggs Ingredients

  • 6 hard-boiled eggs
  • 2 ½ Tbsp of soy-free mayo
  • 1 ½ tsp mustard (skip mustard if you don’t want it and add a bit more mayo)
  • ½ tsp compliant dill relish or ¼ tsp white vinegar

Instructions

  1. After hard boiling the eggs, let them cool a bit and then peel.
  2. Slice the eggs lengthwise.
  3. Remove the yolks and place in a mixing bowl.
  4. Mash the yolks.
  5. Add the ingredients and mix together.
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Fill each egg’s empty yolk hole with the mixture.
  8. Chill for 2-3 hours (but you can serve immediately if you need to).

You can store the eggs for up to two days in the fridge. I like to eat them in the afternoon for a snack if I’m hungry or for breakfast.
