What Makes Sweet Potato Toast Paleo-Friendly?

Sweet potato toast is paleo-friendly because it uses whole, unprocessed ingredients that align with paleo principles. Sweet potatoes are naturally gluten-free and free from grains, legumes, and refined sugars. They provide complex carbohydrates, fiber, and essential nutrients like vitamin A and potassium without the additives found in traditional bread.

Paleo sweet potato toast is simply sliced, baked, and topped with compliant ingredients such as eggs, avocado, nut butters, and vegetables. It is a clean and nourishing alternative to conventional toast.

Paleo Sweet Potato Toast Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Grab a sweet potato that is fairly thick and rotund. I don’t use the skinny ones for toast.
  2. Wash the skin very well, I like to scrub mine.
  3. Use a knife to cut as many 1/2″ thick slices as you can. I get 4-5 slices per sweet potato.
  4. Lay them flat on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Drizzle lightly with avocado oil on both sides.
  6. Bake at 400-degrees for 15 minutes, flip and cook for another 5 minutes.
  7. Let the slices cool, and then layer between wax paper in an airtight storage container. Refrigerate until needed!
  8. To make the toast, pull out 2 slices of already cooked sweet potato, slide them into the toaster (or toaster oven), and two cycles on medium heat will give you warm, toasty sweet potatoes worthy of toppings!

There you have it, sweet potato toast in the toaster oven. Enjoy with some guacamole on top of or any toppings you see fit.
